Coaching

You may not need therapy. You may need clarity about what comes next.

Sometimes the challenge isn't understanding the past. It's deciding what you want now.

Coaching creates space to step back, get clear about what matters, and turn that clarity into action.

You may be navigating a transition, questioning your direction, trying to make a difficult decision, building something new, wanting greater confidence, or realizing that the way you've been approaching life or work isn't getting you where you want to go.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a collaborative, forward focused process centred around growth, goals, decision making, accountability, and change.

Rather than diagnosing or treating mental health concerns, coaching focuses primarily on where you are now, where you want to go, and what may be getting in the way.

The conversation continually comes back to:

The approach

What coaching with me looks like

I'm not interested in telling you how your life should look.

Coaching is about helping you get clearer about what you want, and being willing to look honestly at what may be helping or preventing you from getting there.

Our conversations are practical, thoughtful, and collaborative. We may look at patterns, values, priorities, boundaries, habits, relationships, decision making, confidence, or the expectations you've placed on yourself.

Then we turn insight into action.

The goal isn't endless conversation. It's movement.

Important distinction

Counselling or coaching?

Counselling may involve mental health concerns, trauma, emotional distress, relationship difficulties, psychological symptoms, and experiences from the past that continue to affect your life today.

Coaching is non clinical and primarily focused on personal development, goals, clarity, accountability, decision making, and forward movement.

Although I have a professional counselling background, when I am working with someone as a coach, I am providing coaching, not counselling or psychotherapy.

If it becomes clear that counselling or another mental health service would be more appropriate, we'll talk about that openly.

Coaching is a collaborative, goal oriented service intended to support personal development, decision making, accountability, resilience, and forward movement. It does not include mental health diagnosis, psychological assessment, psychotherapy, or treatment of mental health disorders.

Coaching beyond British Columbia

Clinical counselling is offered within my authorized jurisdiction in British Columbia. Coaching may be available to clients outside BC.

Coaching may be available virtually to clients outside British Columbia, including clients in the United States, subject to applicable jurisdictional, professional, and insurance requirements.

Because requirements can differ depending on where a client is located, availability is confirmed before beginning services.

Coaching provided to clients outside British Columbia is coaching only. It is not counselling, psychotherapy, or a mental health service, and it is not represented as regulated practice in any other jurisdiction.
